Our track record of delivering projects on major bridges speaks for itself. Where it is the challenge of developing methods of replacing or augmenting the main cables of the Forth Road Bridge or undertaking the Principal Inspection of Skye Bridge, Fairhurst have the staff with knowledge and experience to undertake the work. Services we provide are:
On the Forth Road Bridge (FRB) we are currently the lead consultant on the assessment of the main cable anchorages and the feasibility of replacing or augmentation of the main cables. Other projects include the innovative dropped object canopy, situated at the main towers to protect bridge users from works overhead, assessment of suspended structure and the derivation of Bridge Specific Assessment Live Loads (BSALL) for the bridge. Notable previous projects include the replacement of the hangers of the suspended structure and the award winning upgrading of the main towers of the bridge.
On Kessock Bridge we undertook the assessment of the bridge and the derivation of the BSALL. For the Humber Bridge we have derived BSALL and undertook a feasibility study into the replacement of the main cable handstrands.
For the Kingston Bridge in Glasgow we were the designer in the design and build team for the replacement of the on and off ramps at the north end of the bridge and parapet replacements.
