Civil Engineering : Shiremoor District Centre, Phase II

Phase II of this project involved the design and construction of a new 394 space multi-storey steel framed car park (MSCP), to be managed by Nexus, plus 1462m² of Non-Food Retail (NFR) with 108 associated retail and 24 residential car parking spaces.

The MSCP structure is a split level, four-storey, simple braced (galvanised), steel-framed stand alone car park. Beams are compositely designed with precast concrete solid planks and insitu concrete topping. MSCP foundations are reinforced plinths over wide strip footings. The NFR structure is a simple single multi-bay portal framed building conventionally braced.
