Fairhurst secured the development of a two phase 570,000sq ft (53,000sq m) Distribution Centre including recycling centre and vehicle maintenance unit for the Stobart Group. The project forms part of the 3MG Mersey Multimodal Gateway and Fairhurst obtained planning permission for the redevelopment of the former Tessenderlo chemical works site adjoining the River Mersey SSSI including design, planning, landscape, transport, full civil & structural design including geotechnical investigation services. The building is complete and due to be occupied in 2010 creating 600 new jobs.

Alan ConnellAlan has been a partner in Fairhurst since 1999 and a practicing engineer for 30 years. He has had a diverse range of experience in most sectors including distribution, rail, retail, commercial, transport, leisure, industrial, infrastructure and education.
Since joining the firm in the Glasgow office he has been based in the South of England for over 20 years, and manages the Watford office which provides a comprehensive service to it’s Clients.
Alan currently serves on the management group of the practice.
