Fairhurst were instructed by Helmsley to appraise the development potential and create an indicative masterplan for the village of Stromeferry, which is located around 20 miles north east of Kyle of Lochalsh in the Scottish Highlands. The site has a complex planning history and after various planning permissions were obtained and unimplemented by a previous developer, Helmsley regained control of the site. Their main objective has, therefore, been to re-negotiate fresh planning consents which can be delivered and are marketable, to maximise the site’s development potential.

John is a Chartered Engineer and has built a strong reputation within the Scottish market, retaining a broad Client base within a variety of key sectors.
These sectors particularly include education, residential and Government areas with the latter involving the current SPS Prison upgrade and expansion programme.
John is a Partner with responsibility for market development and his Civil/Structural team in the Glasgow office whilst also supporting the other operational units.
