At the recent RICS 2019 Awards ceremony, Fairhurst was presented with the award for ‘Design Through Innovation’ for the Cleveland Community Safety Hub building.
Working alongside Cleveland Police, McBains Cooper, CAD21 and Esh Construction, our Newcastle Office provided Civil & Structural, Geotechnical and Landscape Design services on what has proved to be a hugely successful build of Cleveland Polices’ headquarters, which houses the force command centre and 999 call centre.
The building is the first of its kind as it opens up the interface between the police and the community by having shared work space with a community centre , café/restaurant and event space which encourages the public to interact with the police and work together. Other forces such as North Yorkshire are looking at this facility as an example of how they might adopt this design into their planned estate improvements in the future. The building brings policing into the 21st century.
Congratulations to all involved
