Gourock Pierhead Redevelopment recently won the Best Townscape Regeneration Project at the Herald Property Awards for Scotland 2016.
The improvement works in this tight urban setting included a new one way system and an extension/reconfiguration to the existing car park at the railway station and to the Kempock Street car park, greatly improved the traffic flow and pedestrian movements through the town centre and rejuvenating the waterfront setting.
This Glasgow office project, set on the banks of the River Clyde, contained a diverse range of civil engineering elements including coastal protection/ revetment works, reinforced concrete retaining walls, earthworks/up-filling to the foreshore area, roadworks and drainage works. The civil, structural, geo-environmental, water, and transportation teams all worked closely to deliver this winning design.
Gerry Barr and Craig McDowell joined client Riverside Inverclyde and other members of the project team to collect the award.
