As the lead consultant of an international design team Fairhurst are utilising their extensive knowledge of the structure of the bridge in the development of options for the replacement or augmentation of the main cables of the Forth Road Bridge.
Previous ground breaking projects undertaken for FETA by Fairhurst such as the main tower strengthening and the replacement of the hangers of suspended structure have provided the team with the experience to identify and develop solutions which can be constructed safely and in a manner which minimises the impact of the works on the use of the bridge.
