Fairhurst were appointed by Metnor Property Group to prepare a full planning application and supporting assessments for an office development on Portland Road, Newcastle upon Tyne. The scheme comprised of two five storey office buildings with ancillary ground floor retail units, to be developed on vacant Brownfield land.
The development will be among the most sustainable in the city, achieving a BREEAM rating of excellent and incorporating green roofs, rain water harvesting and assisted natural ventilation.
The proposal forms a component in the comprehensive regeneration of Portland Green in an area earmarked for regeneration.
Full planning permission was granted August 2008.
