The Forestry Commission Scotland’s Inverness District Office at Smithton on the southern edge of the city has won the RICS Scotland Sustainability award for 2008. The assessors were ‘very impressed by the quality and the careful consideration to all aspects in creating a sustainable building’.
The client’s brief demanded a sustainable design and a requirement to demonstrate exemplary use of locally grown timber, ideally sourced from within a 50 mile radius of the regenerated brown field site.

Alister is a Chartered Engineer with over 20 years experience of working within the Construction Industry, predominately in the Highlands of Scotland and has a wide range of experience in both the design and construction of Civil, Structural and Building Projects.
