Union Square is a regeneration scheme creating a new retail and leisure destination for Aberdeen. The development includes:
- Over 50 stores
- Up to 12 family friendly restaurants and cafes
- 203 bedroom hotel with restaurant, bar and conference facilities
- 10 screen cinema
- Linked to the bus and rail stations
- 1700 car parking spaces
Fairhurst has provided the structural and civil engineering design for the scheme, as well as dealing with all geotechnical and contaminated land issues.

Murray is a chartered engineer and fellow member of both the Institution of Civil Engineers and the Institution of Structural Engineers. He has been a partner of Fairhurst since 1999. He is a team player with a demonstrable track record of excellence and innovation in design. He has extensive experience of the design of building structures in concrete, steel and timber. During his career with Fairhurst, he has also been responsible for the design of a number of significant and complex bridge structures.
