LOCATION: South East / South West Scotland
CLENT: The Scottish Executive Development Dept.
STATUS: Completed 2005
Arising from the maintenance contracts of management of the Trunk Roads of South East and South West Scotland held jointly with Amey, the firm has been involved in a series of traffic management and modelling studies since 2001.
These have ranged in scale and complexity from assessments of pedestrian crossings on urban trunk roads in Ayrshire to the setting up of sophisticated micro simulation traffic models (PARAMICS) to test replacement options for existing sub standard unconventional junctions in rural areas and even to model traffic management options for the re-routing of the A78 trunk road through Greenock Town Centre. Other tasks have included traffic and economic modelling of proposals for localised upgrading of the A75 trunk road (differential acceleration lanes) in Dumfries & Galloway.
