Fairhurst are engineers and designers for this major motorway project in a joint venture agreement with Mouchel. The M8 scheme will plug the existing gap in the motorway network serving Scotland’s Central Belt comprising one of the last major links in the UK to be upgraded to full motorway standards.
In addition to the firm’s input to the engineering design process and overall project management, the Transportation Division is responsible for reviewing the anticipated effects of the proposed scheme for ‘Non Motorised Users’ in the corridor as input to the Environmental Assessment process.

Malcolm Fraser
Partner
Malcolm is a Chartered Engineer with over 30 years experience in the design of civil and structural projects. He is currently Partner in charge of the Firm’s Edinburgh office and he has executive responsibility for implementing and reviewing the Firm’s Health and Safety Policy.
He is ultimately responsible for all civil structural and transportation projects undertaken in the Edinburgh office. The projects range in scale from small structural surveys to large multi disciplinary schemes valued in excess of £100m.
