Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer
Edinburgh
Due to an increasing forward workload, we are currently looking to appoint an experienced Senior/Principal Geotechnical Engineer to join the Edinburgh Office. The successful candidate will have a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects spanning the transportation, industrial, retail, residential and commercial sectors.
Responsibilities:
- Geotechnical reporting and management of site investigations
- Manipulation and interpretation of geotechnical data from site investigations for wide range of schemes
- Prepare ground models and design parameters
- Undertake Geotechnical analysis and design e.g. Pile design, settlement, slope stability assessments etc
- Manage and mentor junior staff
Qualifications / Experience:
- First degree in Civil Engineering / Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology
- An MSc in Geotechnical Engineering/Engineering Geology would be advantageous
- Experience in use of geotechnical software for slope stability modelling, rock slope design, Settle 3D
- Experience of PLAXIS would be advantageous
- Typically, six to eight years post graduate experience approaching chartership through Institution of Civil Engineers or Geological Society
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Flexible and enthusiastic approach to working within a team structure
- Good communication skills across disciplines
- Clean driving license
