We are seeking Drainage and Water (Civil) Engineers to join our Water Services team based in Glasgow. The roles support our strategy for growth in infrastructure and development design services where we have a varied workload of committed projects across the property, transport and energy sectors.  Significant activities include major waterfront development, trunk road schemes, rail, and renewables / grid infrastructure.

Our Water Services team has 25 engineers and consultants with activities broadly divided into the following sub-services:

  • Infrastructure and Development: providing design services in the areas of flood protection, watercourse structures, drainage, SuDS, water supply, and drainage infrastructure adoption;
  • Water and watercourse engineering: providing assessment services relating to river modelling, coastal flood risk, flood alleviation, hydrology and climate change resilience;
  • Dams and Reservoirs: with in-house ARPE and Supervising Engineers under the Reservoirs Acts, we provide inspection, assessment, design and construction support services; and
  • Water environment: providing EIA, hydro-geomorphology, CAR, marine licencing and other environmental advice linked to the team’s core services.

We work together across these sub-service to provide diverse capabilities and support for individual’s growth. The experience profile of our team ranges from technicians and graduates to senior staff of up to 40 years’ experience who provide direction and development guidance.

QUALIFICATIONS/ EXPERIENCE

  • A degree in Civil Engineering or relevant other first degree with a masters.
  • Be a Chartered Engineer (CEng) and a member of ICE or CIWEM.
  • Have 8 or more years of experience.
  • Perform a role that includes the management of deliverables and client interaction.
  • Good report writing and communication skills.
  • Experience in applying DMRB, Scottish Water and other national body design standards.
  • Strong skills in MicroDrainage, Causeway and/or InfoDrainage software; Civils3D; and BIM environment tools.
  • Capabilities / interests in team management and graduate development.
  • IEng candidates may be considered with a corresponding enhancement of experience.
