We are currently looking to add Trainee Civil Engineers to our established infrastructure design team at our Westhill office.

The successful candidates will have a fantastic opportunity to play a part in one of the UK’s leading engineering consultancies, working with a range of Clients on a variety of projects spanning all key sectors.

The position is ideally suited to recent school leavers who have an interest in Civil Engineering.

Successful candidates will be supported through education, training and mentor support to enable them to work towards becoming professionally qualified as an Engineering Technician and a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers. This is a globally recognised qualification and a mark of expertise. Further professional development will also be supported.

Applicants should be currently UK based and ideally located local to Aberdeen / Aberdeenshire.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be able and willing to learn
  • Through training, develop the ability to design of infrastructure including roads, drainage and water mains
  • Develop technical knowledge through self-study and work based learning
  • Liaison with statutory bodies such as Scottish Water, Local Authorities and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency
  • Become proficient in undertaking technical analysis and the use of AutoCAD and infrastructure design software packages
  • Willing and able to attend meetings and undertake site visits
  • Develop and maintain good relationships with Clients, colleagues and other parties
  • Liaise and communicate clearly in a professional manner
  • Preparation, issue and management of technical project information, including calculations, drawings and models
  • Maintain high standards of information presentation and ensure consistency and accuracy

QUALIFICATIONS

Educational base requirements – three highers plus maths and english at National 5.

Previous construction industry experience is not essential
