Auchmill Road

The Auchmill development created 92 modern flats, with a mixture of one to eight occupant flats and wheelchair-designed flats, for Aberdeen City Council. The development is one of nine sites across the city where Aberdeen City Council is building new council houses.

The flats are designed to a Gold Standard level of energy efficiency throughout with low maintenance external amenity spaces as well as the creation of a new ramp to the A96 which delivers safer access and encourages walking, cycling, and wheeling through active travel.

These new homes are not only energy efficient but also low maintenance and built to an extremely high quality in the industry-recognised Gold Standards.

Fairhurst provided multi-disciplinary engineering services from inception of the project to completion including Civil and Transportation services associated with the creation of a new pedestrian crossing across the A96.

Through detailed consideration for buildability at an early stage in the project, we developed designs which had construction and the contractor in mind. This approach was seen to deliver benefits in time and safety during construction.
