Cleveland Community Safety Hub is a newly built Police HQ building for the Cleveland Police Authority located in Hemlington Grange, Middlesbrough. The development consists of a new 3-storey building with supporting energy centre, communications mast and car park with extensive landscaping.
The multi-disciplinary team within Fairhurst comprising of the civil and structural, geotechnical, environmental and infrastructure developments worked in collaboration with the wider design team to provide a fully coordinated design solution to achieve the Client’s requirements throughout the project. As a result of the 3D structural analysis and Revit models produced by Fairhurst during the initial design phases, potential clashes and buildability issues were identified at an early stage of the design in areas of high complexity where 2D drafting would have been insufficient. The civil engineering works consisted of the design and construction of the external works including pedestrian / vehicular access to the site and construction of a new surface water and foul water drainage system as well as an off-site SuDs pond for the wider site.
