The Victoria Hospital located in Kirkcaldy is the largest hospital in Fife. The hospital provides accident and emergency services as well as minor injuries services, specialist, acute and support health services.
Fairhurst was engaged by Graham Construction to provide CDM co-ordinator and principal designer services for the design and construction of the enabling works and main construction works.
Challenges relating to this project included the provision of a new heat station within the hospital basement and refurbishment works. A further challenge included the installation of new pipework, plant on the x-ray roof and new edge protection on the plant room roof.
To overcome these obstacles or challenges, Fairhurst provides specialist advice on the implementation of the CDM Regulations for this project and continues to provide leadership and guidance to members of the assembled project Design Team on the suitability of their design proposals with respect to health and safety and risk management.
