A new build nursery on a greenfield area adjacent to the existing primary school site was proposed within the Ferryhill Conservation Area. The new nursery provides and open plan play space internally with external covered play and landscaped gardens. A new 3G sports pitch was also formed as part of the initial works.
Fairhurst provided a complete engineering solution coordinating GI investigations and due to the quality of ground on the site, utilised a piled foundation solution, with reinforced concrete ground beams, suspended concrete floors, timber kit and steel frame and timber trusses.
