We are looking to appoint an Engineer to join our Marine team in the Newcastle office, on a full time and permanent basis. The successful candidate will have an unparalleled opportunity to work alongside our team of dedicated engineers and technicians on a varied portfolio of civil engineering works in the marine environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and assessment of marine structures.
  • Liaise and communicate clearly in a professional manner to colleagues, clients, contractors and other designers to offer advice and guidance on matters relating to your work. Be able to work in close collaboration with team members.
  • Review designs and drawings completed by team members or other parties for compliance with design standards, best practice guidance, contractual obligations and client expectations, ensuring that quality and consistency of technical output is maintained.
  • Ensure work is compliant with Health and Safety legislation such as the CDM Regulations and other applicable codes.
  • Have awareness of construction contracts and terms of appointment. Have the ability to liaise with clients, stakeholders and local authorities.
  • A developing skill set in the use of relevant technical analysis, design software and AutoCAD.
  • Attend design meetings, site meetings and carryout site inspections.
  • Work on projects with consideration to the agreed project budgetary limits and timescales.
  • Have awareness of business development activities and be responsible for the preparation, issue and management of technical project information, including calculations and drawing information, in accordance with the standard requirements.

     

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE:

  • 3+ years of post-graduate experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering
  • Full clean driving license
