Dalton Park Shopping Outlet was originally built in 2001-2002, providing a range of designer retail units, located just off the A19 near Murton. In 2013, a significant expansion of Dalton Park (Phase 2) was given the go ahead and this included a new cinema, restaurants, supermarket and petrol filling station.
Fairhurst was appointed by Bowmer & Kirkland on behalf of their investment arm (Peveril Securities) to provide multi-disciplinary professional services on the project. This included civil, structural, geo-environmental engineering, highways and transport planning. Our involvement on the transport planning / highways side helped to remove some planning objections and to mitigate potential delays to the programme from the outset. We also had a key role to play in terms of the site wide engineering / earthworks, helping to save overall construction costs and reduce carbon during site operations.
Fairhurst / Sanderson’s are now involved in a third phase of works relating to onsite infrastructure and traffic / transportation improvements.
