The Clifton Court multi-storey sheltered flatted block in Aberdeen underwent a structural survey and remedial works as part of the Denis Law Legacy project. This initiative, which included the painting of murals on the North and East elevations of the building, prompted the fast-tracking of works that would typically form part of Aberdeen’s cyclical maintenance programme for multi-storeys.
The project involved a comprehensive structural survey of the entire building façade, carried out using suspended access equipment (cradles) provided by Skyform Specialist Contracts. Based on the findings, remedial works were specified and supervised to enhance the robustness of the façade and extend the lifespan of the mural.
In addition to structural improvements, the project included assistance with the specification of the paint system to ensure compatibility with existing finishes and to optimise application during the cold winter months. This support helped improve the efficiency and durability of the mural installation.
Fairhurst provided the following roles on the project:
- Structural Engineer
