
This £37M mixed-use development at the former Meat Market site is located east of Glasgow’s city centre. The development includes twelve blocks of flats of up to seven storeys in height, housing a combination of residential and commercial units. The load-bearing structure of the buildings is predominantly timber frame, but with a mixture of traditional masonry and hot rolled steel framing.
Fairhurst’s multidisciplinary design team were involved in the project from inception and have provided the following services:
- Superstructure and substructure design of the masonry, steel frame and timber frame structures
- SER Ltd. certification
- Geotechnical site investigation design, geo-environmental design, piling specification and remediation strategy for the whole site
- Transport strategy
- Drainage impact assessment and drainage strategy
- Infrastructure design, including below ground drainage, highways and earthworks
