Acting as EIA Co-ordinators, Fairhurst were pivotal to the granting of planning permission for four storage and distribution warehouses in Wakefield.
Fairhurst prepared the socio-economics chapter of the Environmental Statement (ES) and Health Impact Assessment (HIA) for the Amazon warehouse on this allocated employment site. Working with the Planning Team at Gateley LLP, Fairhurst were then commissioned by Newmarket Lane Ltd (a joint venture between Yorkcourt and Henry Boot Developments) to fulfil the role of EIA Co-ordinator for three storage and distribution warehouses. The proposal is intrinsically linked with and will contribute towards financially enabling a proposal for the redevelopment of Belle Vue Stadium, the home of Wakefield Trinity Rugby League Football Club, south of Wakefield City Centre.
Continuing on from the successful delivery of previous commissions, Fairhurst were then instructed to provide environmental support for over 24,500 sq.m of warehousing on Newmarket Lane. In particular, Fairhurst co-ordinated the ES, alongside the HIA, which accompanied the planning application.
As a result of changes to tenant operational requirements, ES Addendums were also prepared to consider whether the minor adjustments altered the findings of the EIA’s in regards to the likely significant effects on the environment. Across all three projects, Fairhurst’s Planning Team also assessed the likely socio-economic impact
