As part of their UK expansion plans, Tim Hortons identified a vacant restaurant unit on an established out of town retail park in Harlow, Essex to be redeveloped to provide a new food & beverage location including a “drive-thru” lane.
The re-purposing of the existing premises involved complete re-cladding and roofing works as well as alterations to the curved rear façade structure to form the drive-thru window and kitchen area.
The new foundations had to avoid existing services and foundations. Work was also required to reconfigure the existing drainage in the vicinity of the extension. The car parking layout also had to be re-configured to allow for the drive-thru access and exit as well as new customer parking areas.
