Fairhurst with joint venture partners CH2M Hill along with fellow A9 design consultants Jacobs and AMJV (Atkins Mouchel Joint Venture) and client Transport Scotland were pleased to be named as winners of BCI Skills Impact Initiative of the Year.
This award recognises the success of the Academy9 initiative on our A9 Dualling programme appointment with Transport Scotland. The initiative provides enhanced learning opportunities in STEM subjects to students, teachers and staff using the A9 project as the backdrop for learning.
One of the differentiating factors of Academy9 from other STEM initiatives is its collaboration with industry professionals. The Academy9 initiative provides teachers with a CPD resource database and the opportunity to tap in to the design consultant’s teams to deliver practical and relevant lessons in STEM subjects, which is a requirement of the Scottish Government’s Curriculum for Excellence.
