Located on the Icon Harlow industrial park, this plot provided a bespoke “last mile” AMZL hub for tenant Amazon. The brownfield site required substantial earthworks to form the development platforms for this and the adjacent plot. This circa 85,000 sq.ft warehouse deals with local parcel delivery using an LGV fleet. The site had to be made “EV ready” for future introduction of an all-electric van fleet.

The 4-storey 400 space “van deck” parking structure required an imposed load double that of a standard car park, due to the weight of the vans parked whilst fully laden.

The limited external areas meant that a geo-cellular attenuation solution was impractical so an oversized precast concrete pipe solution was adopted to be threaded through the gaps between foundations under the van deck. With limited site area for swales SUDS features adopted included filter drains, permeable paving and downstream defenders.
