This retail development comprised an extension to the existing Unit 2 and a new structure drive-thru area for Costa Coffee. Unit 2 was subdivided and is now occupied by Wren Kitchens and Oak Furniture Land.
The extension to Unit 2 was a single-storey steel framed extension with hipped roof structure to match the existing roof profile. The new super-structure was also supported on traditional pad foundations. The Costa Coffee building was also a single-storey steel frame structure with a shallow pitched roof structure and was supported on a reinforced concrete raft foundation.
Fairhurst involvement was from inception to completion and included:
- Sub-structure design
- Super-structure design
- Drainage Design
- External Finishes
All structural drawings were produced using Revit Structure, which provided more clarity to the end users on-site and to inform the steel fabrication process.
