Fairhurst are delighted to receive news that our landmark project, Sky Studios Elstree, has been shortlisted for the 2024 Structural Steel Design Awards. Our Watford office took the steelwork design through to RIBA 4 tender stage before handing the baton over to Severfield to complete the final design flowing straight into installation.
The design team of Fairhurst, UMC and Hoare Lea worked closely with the main contractor, BAM, the tenant, Sky and project managers Potter Raper (acting on behalf of the client, Legal & General Investment Management) to coordinate the superstructure design and deliver on the project’s sustainability and embodied carbon reduction drivers. What a great team effort which has seen the completed scheme already host two major film productions.
We now look forward to the awards ceremony on Thursday, 26th September. Fingers crossed for a win!
