Ab Architecture on behalf of Sterne Properties enlisted Fairhurst to complete a detailed geotechnical investigation for the historic Ripon Spa Baths.
Fairhurst conducted a comprehensive Phase 1 Desk Study and prepared a ground stability report as part of the redevelopment’s early planning phase, with the site set to be transformed into luxury apartments.
Known for its unique geological challenges, the Ripon area is characterized by gypsum-rich layers that pose risks for ground instability. To fully assess potential risks, Fairhurst initiated a Phase 2 Ground Investigation, employing advanced drilling and soil analysis techniques to pinpoint any complex subsurface issues that might impact long-term stability. The results of these investigations will guide tailored stabilization strategies to safeguard the redevelopment’s structural integrity. This project is another example of Fairhurst’s commitment to providing essential geotechnical insights for preserving historic sites while paving the way for innovative new uses.
